Owned and created by Ashley Meilleur, local business owner in Traverse Bay.  Ashley has owned and operated award winning restaurants and bars, a catering company, a dance studio, promotion company, music festivals and currently runs a cleaning company and property management firm serving the local community. Although Ashley has never run a retail store, she is optimistic at its position in the community and believes that it is very much needed. Ashley has always promoted community initiatives and support and she is very excited to overlap that in Traverse Bay's newest store front. Over the last two years, Ashley was always seeing good items being thrown out and wanted to do something about it.  Thus, The Trading Post was born. 

 

At Traverse Bay Trading Post and Thrift, we are a locally based socially responsible thrift store that is passionate about supporting our community. Our collection is curated with love and care, offering unique items that are forever changing.

 

We believe in being socially responsible and reducing the stress on our landfills. We collect all donations and what we cannot use we re-donate to non-profits in the local area.  Each donation grants you a 50% off coupon for your next purchase. You can drop off during store hours or schedule a pick up. Although we rescue a lot of our stock from the trash, we have plenty of new and used items. 

 

We LOVE supporting our community. Here are some things we do:

-We host locally made and sourced artisan products in our store without charging a commission or rent for our artists, just pure exposure! 

-Every Wednesday we donate 40% of our sales to support nominated local programs or members who may be in need. 

-As loyal customers, we want to pay you back, and reward you with 75% off your 5th purchase at $20 a stamp.

-We are Treasure Hunters, and if you're looking for something, we WILL find it!  ---We will have have coloured tag sale days and FREE items daily!

- We will sponsor one business a month and help promote them across our networks as well as give away a Gift Certificate to their business every month!
